Pastor & Staff
The Rev. Bruce Reyes-Chow
Bruce Reyes-Chow, a native of Stockton who grew up in Sacramento and graduated from San Francisco State University and San Francisco Theological Seminary, is a Presbyterian whose roots have spread within the Bay Area and kept him close by for nearly all his 54 years.
He will be our bridge pastor through January.
Bruce has been an ordained minister since 1995, founded the Mission Bay Community Church in San Francisco’s SOMA district, and has served at Covenant Presbyterian in San Francisco, Valley Presbyterian in Portola Valley, Broadmoor Presbyterian in Daly City and most recently three years as pastor and head of staff at First Presbyterian, Palo Alto. In 2008 at the 218th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA held in San Jose, he was elected moderator — the highest office in the denomination — becoming the youngest (at age 38) and first Filipino American to fill that role.
He has his own podcast, BRC & Friends, and considers his blogging a spiritual practice. His sixth book, “Everything Good about God is True: Choosing Faith,” will be published in the spring. You can catch up on more about him on his website at https://reyes-chow.com/.
Bruce and his wife, Robin Pugh, live in San Jose. They have three grown daughters.
