Pastors & Staff
The Rev. Samantha Lynn Evans
Pastor and Head of Staff
Samantha Evans lives her life with the Apostle Paul's notion of the body of Christ always at the forefront of her mind. She believes that in Christ, all people have been united with one another, with themselves, and with God. Thus, when any member of the body of Christ is suffering and unable to be who Christ calls her or him to be, the entire body suffers alongside her.
The body is made stronger when all members can find true belonging and to proclaim, celebrate, offer, and steward the beautiful diversity of gifts found in the body.
Sammie focuses her ministry and her life working for all members of the body of Christ to experience healing and reconciliation in community, to be supported, to grow and change, and to live fully into who they have been created to be – good, beautiful, and beloved children of God.
Sammie was born and raised in northwestern Pennsylvania. She graduated from Allegheny College in 2011 with a BS in Physics. That same year she travelled to Princeton, New Jersey, to begin study toward her Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary, a degree she received in 2014.
Once legitimized with a degree, Sammie packed up and moved to the big city of Philadelphia, where all manner of transformation awaited her.
It was in Philadelphia and at Broad Street Ministry that Sammie found her preaching voice, created the Garden Initiative, and supervised several young would-be pastors while discerning her own call in the church.
She loves to read, watch, and listen to stories of all kinds, lift weights, listen to music, play with her cats, and work in her growing garden.
The Rev. Irene Pak Lee
Irene Pak Lee's passion around ministry is grounded in the love of God and love of people. She believes the life and ministry of Jesus was and is an incredible way to demonstrate a life of welcome, inclusivity, love and grace for all people, and she seeks to demonstrate that as best as she can in her own life and teaching. Irene also believes the best kind of pastoral care and ministry comes around sharing a meal together, so anytime you want to grab food with her, she will be up for it!
She was born and raised in the wild west of Ogden, Utah, to Korean immigrant parents and is a lifelong Presbyterian. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Weber State University, where she minored in music, playing cello.
Irene then went on to McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, where she received her Master of Divinity degree. She worked for the Presbyterian Church (USA) in Louisville, Kentucky, for a year in the Office of Racial Justice and Advocacy. She received her first pastoral call in 2008 at Daesung Korean Presbyterian Church in Sunnyvale, where she was the Associate Pastor for Christian Education and English Ministries. She was called to Stone Church In 2012.
Irene married Marion Lee at Stone Church in 2016. They are parents of Ezra and Eden. Irene loves to read, binge watch TV shows, go on walks, and sing and play music.
